Citations are one of the many ways the search engines look for your company.
Correct citations will help rank your company better. Any time your business is listed on the internet, with the same Name, Address, and Phone, it is called a CITATION. (To See Your Business Report with Citations, fill in the form on the right. Your report will appear in 60-90 seconds.)
The more citations you have, the higher and more respect your company has in the major search engines.
Name Address and Phone has to match the Google listing exactly or else it does not count. In other words, if you address is listed on Google as “123 Jones Ave”. But on Bing or Yahoo you list as “123 Jones Avenue, Suite B” in the eyes of the search engines, that is a different company and your listing does not count toward your ranking. All listings must be the same.
Citations from comprehensive and well-indexed portals (like Superpages.com for example) will help to increase the degree of trust the search engines have about your business’s contact information and categorization.
The more competition in your industry, the more important it is to have quality Citations.
Below is a list of CItations. Your company should have a good number of these. after checking your report, if you need more citations, or you need some of your citations fixed, we can send you a free booklet explaining how to fix or create them.
You can also run a check on your competitors to see where you stand against them.

Citations can be especially crucial in more natural niches (like electrical or plumbing contractors) A large number of businesses don’t have websites. Since there is no more information out there, Google (and Bing/Yahoo) will return search results by whatever information they can find! Having a website will also help increase your Google Rankings.
Citations also provide proof to the internet that your business is part of a broader business community. Citations that come from websites like Chamber of Commerce, BBB or a city directory are great to have. These websites can drastically improve your rankings in local search results.
Writing blogs or columns in local newspapers or trade websites are also very strong citations.
